{D-Product Alert} Blood Sugar Sensing Contact Lenses

Contact lenses that sense blood sugar levels

Lots of diabetes management news this week. First Medtronic announced FDA approval of the mySentry device.

This morning I saw this article about Microsoft and the University of Washington’s research project to develop contact lenses that sense blood sugar levels and communicate them wirelessly.

How futuristic.

Whether or not this concept comes to market or when, I appreciate research into alternative methods of checking blood sugars other than through drops of blood via a finger prick.

I’m guessing that since it’s Microsoft, it won’t be communicating with my iPhone!

Read the article about this research and see lots of pictures on the Gizmag website.
