{Diabetes 365} The Octopus and the Pancreas

by Leighann on March 19, 2012

When we were at the JDRF Family Day last year, Q was asked if she would like to draw a picture to be included in a mosaic poster that they use as a fundraiser. The trick was that she had to fill in the entire piece of paper!

Being put on the spot to be creative, she started drawing a pirate ship. If you watch Phineas and Ferb (and if you don’t, why not?!), you may have caught this reference to the pancreas. There are actually two episodes where the pancreas was mentioned.

Q wrote on the description for the photo, “On Phineas and Ferb, Captain 10 said an octopus ate his pancreas. And when you have diabetes, your pancreas doesn’t work.”

The first time we saw this episode, Q shouted out, “What?! Captain 10 has diabetes?”
