Leighann,
I just want to thank you for your blog. I found it through a retweet from JDRF. My daughter was diagnosed at age 7 on January 15, 2009. In the last year I have gone from being just a mother of 3 to a warrior. I am battling Type 1 diabetes every day. Reading your blog, I see so much of me in it. So, thank you for documenting what millions of mothers are going through, and millions more will go through.
These pics are great. Boy am I glad I found this blog! My daughter is going to be 8 in May and was diagnosed with type 1 in August of 2009.
After reading your blog i feel a little better I am a first time mom in my thirties my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in March now she’ll be one years old May 15th we are just taking it one day at a time.
Hi,
I love your blog. I have a nine year old with type 1. She was diagnosed at age 7. We have been on the omnipod for over a year now. We love it! We decorate the pump using any stickers that she likes…then I cover the sticker with clear mailing or packing tape. It make it waterproof. Just thought I would share that. I love all the pictures. Btw…what is double podding??? Never have seen that before. Thanks. So nice to see another mom like me. I have four kids…9, 7, (girls) and 5 and 3 (boys). Thanks again!

Stacey- We sometimes put temporary tattoos on her pods to spice them up a little.
To answer your question about the “double pod,” when we put on the new one, we often leave the old one on for a while. We have problems with highs after pod changes and one of the suggestions we were given was leaving the old one on for a little while. So one of them is active and the old one is deactivated and just waiting to come off.
