Q knew exactly what she wanted to make when I told her that it was Diabetes Art Day. She made this piece using painted OmniPods for the flower petals, a glucose tab for the center of the flower and test strips for the stem. She calls it “Diabetes Rose.”
Every rose does have a thorn and ours is diabetes.*
(*The thorn comment is my opinion, Q’s artwork is actually a reflection of her positive attitude: sunshine and roses!)
