I mentioned yesterday that I may house a few non-diabetes reviews here on D-Mom Blog from companies that I love. Here is one about Lands’ End, who I regularly open my wallet to for parkas and snow pants and backpacks and swimsuits that outlast my kids.
We are long time customers of Lands’ End and when they offered to send us an outfit from their school uniform collection, I said, “Yes, please.”
I actually had a choice between a backpack or a uniform. But the bad news for Q is that the Lands’ End backpack and lunchbox that she started the last school year with are still in good condition and did not need to be replaced.
Q’s school does not require uniforms, though I really, really wished that they did. How easy would that be! I have enough to think about in the morning between pump changes, bolusing for breakfast, figuring out her lunch, and triple checking that I actually put her d-supply bag into her backpack.
But the line of school uniforms are actually great basics that you can mix and match and work into any child’s wardrobe. We chose the Short Sleeve Knit Ruffle Front Dress paired with Knit Leggings. I chose red thinking that it can also be worn to some casual holiday parties. Right now while it’s still hot, she’s worn the dress with little shorts underneath…a girl has got to have freedom on the playground, you know! But she’ll pull the leggings on under it as the weather cools.
I love the ruffle detail because it adds a little flair that’s often lacking when kids are required to wear a shirt or dress with a collar.
I will say that I was impressed with the thickness of the leggings. Many of the leggings that we have purchased from other stores in the past are thinner and sometimes don’t hold up too well.
According to Lands’ End, this year’s line features items that have the following:
- Durability: Importance of reinforced seams and adjustable waists for ultimate comfort and durability.
- Range of Sizes: A wider variety of sizes are now available for kids. Whether regular size, slim, tall, plus or husky, there are options for every kid.
- Personalization: Kids can now customize their backpacks, lunch boxes and more with monograms, embroidery, heat transfers and numbers.
- School Uniforms: School uniforms don’t have to be uncool or uncomfortable. Lands’ End offers gender-specific items including feminine tops and cardigans for boys and girls with a wide range of sizes.
Disclosure: I have worked with Lands’ End for a number of years and occasionally receive products for review. Though I will say that we are loyal customers and spend our hard-earned dollars on clothing for our kids. Monetary compensation was not received and opinions are my own. Please read my disclosure statement.
