Nighttime Alarms

Nighttime Alarm

You know it’s not going to be a good night when you set the alarm on your iPhone to wake you at 11:00 pm, 2:00 am, and 5:00 am.

The 2:30 pm alarm? That’s my daily “stop what you are doing and go pick up your kid from school” alarm.

Sometimes when I wake up for the day I am really, really tired, as if I hadn’t slept at all. I have to go back and look at my son’s meter to see what kind of night I had. When I see a 12:03am, 1:03am, 4:03am and 6:30am check I then remember why it is that I am so exhausted, and in reality I hadn’t slept.

It is some small comfort to me to know that others have this ridiculous and insane part of their lives, too, along with the accompanying exhaustion. I’m sorry that this comfort comes at your (and all the other d-moms and d-dads) expense. At least I have an excuse for my forgetfulness! Just call me Mrs. Brightside…LOL

Yes, it is a comfort to see folks in the same boat… Thought I was the only one who was setting an alarm so I wouldn’t forget to pick up the children from school! Used to write everything on my hand, the original “palm pilot”.

This too is what my alarms look like. I have 2 diabetics and they never have the same symptoms at the same time. We do the 11pm, 2am, 5am, then morning at 7am. I too have the 2:45pm school pick up alarm. Too funny. I guess with so much for us D mom’s to remember, we need those alarms to help us out.
