{Allergies} Nut Cross Contamination Where You Would Least Expect It: Great Value Drink Mix From Walmart

I know they say that you should “read the label each and every time,” but drink mix, like this Great Value drink mix purchased at Walmart, is the last place I would have expected to see possible cross contamination from milk, almonds, pecans, walnuts, wheat, and soy. I could see possible contamination from milk, but from tree nuts?!

I appreciate that this had an allergy warning (by law they must list ingredients, but by law they do not have to list possible cross contaminants), but I don’t think I would have thought twice about giving my child with food allergies raspberry lemonade.

Are there any foods that you were surprised to see cross contamination warnings?

I was VERY surprised to find almond meal (I think that’s what it was) in new Pepperidge Farm biscuits. The Pepperidge Farm crescent rolls don’t have it, just the biscuits. (These are just like the Pillsbury ones if you haven’t seen them at Wal-mart.)
