{Our Story} Dramatic Drop

by Leighann on July 11, 2012

low blood sugarQ had had a few lows this particular day. Her CGM had alarmed twice already predicting a low.

We had returned home after running errands on a very hot afternoon. I was in my office upstairs when I hear the tell-tale chime coming from her CGM. She walked to the doorway of my office and very dramatically dropped to her knees and then flat on the floor, her hand opening to release the CGM receiver which continued on the trajectory.

I asked, “Are you really that low? Because that was quite dramatic.”

She laughed. “No, but I do feel low.”

One of her symptoms of low blood sugar is that her “legs don’t work” or that she feels like she’s going to “flop over.”

Knowing she was not really passed out on the floor, of course I snapped her picture as she continued to lay there sprawling. I said, “I’m totally going to put this on my blog.”

She told me to tell you it’s her “flop on the floor low, low, low.”

A blood sugar check revealed that she was 59.

Joey does the same “flop and drop” thing! How do they have energy for drama when their numbers are so low?

I, too, wonder how they can be so dramtic when they are low. My daughter has done the same thing multiple times…..and I ask, “are you low, low?” lol….and usually she is not.
