{Snack} Farmer’s Market Snow Peas

Farmer's Market Snow Peas

When we go to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings (the Saturday mornings that we can actually get our act together and go), Q heads straight for the last row so that we can buy a baggie of sprouts. She always does a taste test to decide between the snow pea sprouts and sunflower sprouts. Sometimes she chooses one or the other, sometimes a little of both.

This past trip she spied a huge mound of snow peas in the first row and filled our bag by the handful. She’s been munching on them for snack.

Snow peas are a really good snack, especially fresh, crisp ones straight from the farm. And they are really low in carbs.

According to Calorie King, a serving of 10 pea pods (1.2 ounces) has 2.6 grams of carbs.

100 grams of pea pods have 7.6 grams of carbs.

And the carb factor is 0.076.

She’s a very healthy eater. She loves her desserts too, but it’s all about balance, right?

Love me some snow peas, especially when I make stir frys. I can never find them here in Texas though. Boo.

Aren’t they the best? We can never wait to get home to wash them off. We have to munch on them as we shop.

Now you’ve done it… It’s midnight, and I feel the need for a late-night trip to the market (or local grocery store that’s open at this or any hour) to find some cold, yummy, low-carb peapods. Maybe a farmer’s market is on tap this weekend!
