Too many great blogs, too little time! Here are a few recent posts that I starred in my Google Reader.

Featured D-Blogs

Here are some of my favorite posts I have read recently:

Pam of Wicked Sweet Fallout (Do you think that your non-D child’s behavior or personality is affected by the attention that your D-kid gets?)

Misty of Life is Like a Box of Chocolates April Showers Bring…Blogger Basal! (LOVE how Misty did the Blogger Basal this month…so creative!)

Valerie of Type 1 With Tyler Disneyland With Diabetes (We are going to an amusement park this summer, but not the coveted Disney!)

Amy of Three Thirty Three Death of a Pancreas (The honeymoon is over. Love her take on the death of her daughter’s pancreas. “I’m with stupid.”)

Trev of Three 2 Treat Top 10 List: Sugar Spikers (Non Food Related) (‘Cause we all know that that you can count carbs and bolus, but that doesn’t mean that BG’s are going to cooperate.)

Food Blogs

Lori of Fake Food Free Baked Egg Cups With Asparagus and Kale (I’m not a fan of kale. Guess it was too many years as a waitress and putting on plates as a garnish. I might make these with spinach instead.)

Fooducate The Truth About Carbohydrates (Nice explanation of carbs and how the body uses them. This isn’t a post about diabetes, but talks about ketones.)

Also from Fooducate Oh My! Mio Water Flavoring Has Nothing Real in It (I saw this at the store and picked it up to look at the ingredients list. I put it right back down. We use a little Crystal Light, etc., but not very often. It’s milk or water at our house.)

Hi everyone – so this is my first time posting anywhere. My daughter is 9 1/2 and she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes two years ago. She is a triplet and has 3 sisters in total, none are diabetic. Here is my question – Alyssa suffers from tummy aches almost everyday. Her last A1c was only 6.9 and all blood tests including celiac was negative. I still worry and feel so bad when she complains about her tummy. Her endo insists it is just nerves. What are your thoughts?

By the way, if you can, please help us spread the word for JDRF awareness by logging into the attached site for the annual Ford motor contest. The winner has their drawing come to life when they paint a Ford Nascar in her/his color design and a generous donation in their name to JDRF. If you want to vote for Alyssa from Pennsylvania just search her name.
