Featured D-Blogs of the Week
What great D-Blog posts have you read or written this week? Here are some of my favorite posts I have read recently:
KayRitzdorf of I’m (O) Kay: Relationships. Her mom is having a hard time letting Kay manage her own diabetes, even though she’s in her 20’s. I can relate…I mean how will I be able to let go and let my daughter take care of herself in her 20’s when I’ve been in charge of her care for so long.
Joanne of Death of a Pancreas: Ok, So I’m a Nerd. I laughed when she used her daughter’s glucose meter for her own purpose. I felt off the other day and used my daughter’s meter to check my own BG.
Amy of Embrace Diabetes: My Community. I’m not just including this because she mentioned me (wink), but because it is such a tremendous feeling when us D-parents are finally able to connect with people who “get it.”
Penny of A Sweet Grace: That’s My Gal. Oh my, this just made me laugh. The things kids say!
Jessica of Sticking It to Diabetes: Scissors Required. Um. I think I need to go look at all of our tubes of cake icing gel. I never realized this.
Sherry of Jenna’s Pet Monkey: A Hero Among Us. So often we write about our D-Kids, but what about their siblings? This D-Sister is pretty great.
Amanda of Oh Amanda: Make Your Own Pancake Mix. This isn’t a diabetes-related website, but I am definitely going to give this a try. And I’ll mark the bag with the carb counts.
Jennifer Carden of The Toddler Café: Summer, It’s in the Bag. Another non-D blog post. Jennifer is the author of The Toddler Cafe and just an all-around great person that I’ve gotten to know a little online. Here’s a way to make your own ice cream. Because we all know that you can have ice cream even if you have diabetes.
