Free Online Courses From Type-1 University

by Leighann on December 16, 2011

I consider Gary Scheiner’s Think Like a Pancreas as a go-to resource. Did you know that Gary, a CDE and T1 pumper himself, offers not only diabetes coaching, but also webinar-style online classes in diabetes management? I took one of his live classes this fall and appreciated that I could ask him questions directly. His classes are also available as archives.

Here is a sample class to get an idea of how it works. In this video, Gary explains about bolusing for pizza.

If you are interested in taking some of the Type-1 University classes, you are in luck because January tuition is FREE. Register soon because space is limited. Live classes are normally $29.95 each and pre-recorded classes are $19.95.

I was so excited to hear about this. He’s like a diabetes movie star, with that famous book of his. I signed up for the pump class right away. I’m absolutely there’s all kinds of tricks he can teach me to better run on OmniPod.
